Cage sampler for macroinvertebrates sampling is one of the quantitative techniques for macroinvertebrates sampling activity for the water quality monitoring process. This sampler is an improvised version of Surber sampler that is available on the marketplace. In comparison with the Surber sampler, this cage sampler is way more cost-effective and required less material, and is high in safety qualification when using it in the streamflow. The use of cage sampler in macroinvertebrates sampling are emphasized to foresee the colonization time of macroinvertebrates in new habitat with natural substrates in the cage. The sampler enhanced the data collection of macroinvertebrates assemblages and evaluate the sensitivity of the organisms towards the behavioral changes of the living habitat and substrates in the cage.
