More on the Treatment Plant

The catchment area covers 77.6 sq.km, stretching from Batu 11 Cheras to Kajang, comprising of a 7.3 hectare treatment system. This compact and integrated sewage plant is designed to achieve a Standard A, Category 1 water quality, specifically in ammonia removal. It is also an “integrated” space to promote best use of space and carbon reduction by means of Green Technology driven initiatives.

This plant operates using the “deep aeration” method with a Step-Feed Multi-Stage De-Nitrification Process that will reduce carbon and nitrogen discharge effectively. This helps to reduce sewage pollution loading into Sungai Langat and the risk of waterborne diseases arising from inadequately treated sewage.

Our Regional Sewage Treatment Plant uses Green Technology which is renewable and constant. It consists of Bio Gas, Solar Energy, Bio-effluent Reuse and Rainwater Harvesting.

A unique feature of this plant is it provides communities with a range of public recreational amenities such as a community hall, landscaped park, badminton courts and futsal courts built on a stand-alone level on top of the treatment plant.
